Fascinating Czech glass decor produced during the interwar period, in many item shapes, with a variation of the color selected. This is to show how some of these pieces can be attributed to A. Rückl & Sons, based on several shapes bearing other Rückl glass decors, as well as a base stamped oval white mark with the words MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA placed on its interior edge.
The whole effect of this glass must be seen in hand to be fully appreciated. The interior is lined with a heavy opaque cobalt blue glass casing, this is applied with another glass layer on its surface which includes the pulled and tooled hot glass color filaments from top to bottom, and then another heavy layer of glossy clear glass is applied, giving the finished surface an in depth three dimensional impression.
I will follow with several shape series of images to demonstrate the magnitude of the glass decor range which was produced and exported by this special glass house. It suits my purpose very well to show that A. Rückl & Sons were an important contributor to the decorative glass quality and originality offered on the International market during this period.
